"Exploring the Various Techniques of Stained Glass Artistry"

There are so many different techniques for creating beautiful glass art! Blown, fused, copper foil or leaded glass, mosaic and so many more! I've worked with several different techniques and have so much more to learn! I always come back to the tiffany technique, also know as the copper foil method. I personally find more freedom in being able to create intricate designs using that technique. I also enjoy fused glass and making mosaic designs, using them in concrete or on laticrete board. Pictured here is a sea shell window panel I designed and have cut out. Grinding is finished but still need to foil, solder and patina.

Stained glass art is captivating. Its depth, dimension and imperfections are stunning. I love the idea of things becoming more beautiful after being broken. There are so many life analogies in glass. The way glass can reflect light, the refraction it gives as light travels through, the way a dark, unassuming piece of glass can come to life in vibrant hues when the sun shines through. I am so drawn to its depth and beauty.

I'll be writing more about different ideas and stained glass techniques of ways to incorporate glass art designs into your home and garden if you'd like to follow along!
